TaylorMade R9 Driver Review

Posted by Trevor @ 6:22 pm
Filed under: Discount Golf Equipment, TaylorMade Reviews, Uncategorized

Hi this is Trevor with GolfEtail.com, talking about the new TaylorMade R9 Driver. This is one of TaylorMade’s most technologically advanced drivers, featuring both Movable Weight Technology and Flight Control Technology, to optimize your game.

The R9’s Movable Weight Technology, MWT, features 3 weight ports: one 16 gram and two 1 gram weights that you can move around to get the ball flight that you prefer. If you want a fade, you move the heavier weight to the toe of the club, and if you want a draw, you move the heavier weight to the heel of the club.

It is really easy to use the R9’s Flight Control Technology with the provided wrench. All you do is loosen the screw that is on the bottom of the club, and don’t worry about it, the screw is not going to fall out because it is affixed in there. Take the shaft out and rotate it. According to their markings, you can set the club up for a draw, fade, or a neutral setting.

With the R9’s Movable Weight Technology and Flight Control technology combined, you are able to get a deviation of up to 75 yards side to side on your shots. So you can really tune it into how you want to swing the club and get the ball going. And, moving the weights and shaft around is really easy.

The R9 has a really classic shaped head, a nice pear shape. It also has a very thin crown, that is only .55mm thick, which allows all the weight to be on the bottom of the club, lowering the center of gravity (COG) and helping you get the ball up in the air. The R9 also has a nice deep face and the Inverted Cone Technology which TaylorMade Pioneered, which gives you a big sweet spot and helps you hit the ball straight even if you miss-hit it on the heel or toe.

There you have it guys, this was the TaylorMade R9 Driver. It is completely adjustable and is an incredible driver. Pick one up and customize it to your swing, gain some yards, and start shaping those shots the way you want to!

Adams Speedline Hybrid Fairway Review

Posted by Marc @ 5:06 pm
Filed under: Adams Reviews, Discount Golf Equipment

Hi this is Trevor with GolfEtail, and today we are going to be reviewing the Adams Speedline Hybrid Fairway Woods.

The two models are the Speedline and the Speedline Draw. This one is the Draw model. It features a slight offset that helps get the club square to the ball at impact, reducing slices. The normal model doesn’t have the offset, for those players who don’t fade the ball.

On these Speedline clubs, Adams created a more aerodynamic head shape that they tested in wind tunnels, which results in higher swing speeds, which then results in more distance. Adams is known for their Boxer Technology, which is basically a big square clubhead, and this helps increase MOI because it moves weight to the perimeter, making the club more resistant to twisting on impact, so you hit the ball straight.

With the Speedline, they took a different approach and have blended the Hybrid with the Fairway wood, and it has a much more traditional shape and is more eye appealing than their squarer models.Adams has lowered the COG by another 15% to give you a higher launch and a better feel, and the Cambered Sole makes it easy to hit out of various lies. You can see it has a nice roundness to it, so it doesn’t bite in the rough.

Thanks for watching, these were the Adams Speedline Hybrid Fairway Woods. Pick one up today and get the distance of a fairway wood with the playability of a hybrid.

Callaway X-20 Tour Iron Set Review

Posted by Trevor @ 8:17 pm
Filed under: Callaway Reviews — Tags: , ,

Hi guys, this is Trevor with GolfEtail.com and today I am going to be reviewing the Callaway X-20 Tour Irons.

The X-20 Tour’s are characterized by being a more traditional looking iron, yet still featuring some of Callaway’s forgiveness features like this dual notch weighting. But, as you can see, it has a shorter blade than most Callaway’s, similar to their X-Forged Irons. It also has a pretty thin top line, as well as a pretty thin sole. So, it is more of a players iron, yet features some of those forgiving factors.

You can see here that these X-20 Tour’s feature standard bore shaft insertion, rather than what many Callaway’s feature: The bore through, where they cap it.

These clubs are cast out of a 1020 stainless steel, and you can see that they also feature a nice cavity back for forgiveness, as well as the dual notch weighting that brings the weight out to the perimeters for a high MOI, which leads to forgiveness on off-center hits.

All these X-20 Tour’s come outfitted with Rifle Project-X Shafts.

Thanks for watching guys, these were the Callaway X-20 Tour Irons. They are a little more of a players iron, for those mid-to-low handicappers, probably around the 10 and under range, yet they feature the forgiveness that Callaway is known for. So, pick up a set today at GolfEtail.com!

Nike SlingShot HL Hybrid Iron Video Review

Check below for a quick review of the Nike SlingShot HL Hybrid Iron sets!

Hey Guys  ….  This is Mike from Golfetail.com, and we are reviewing the NIKE Slingshot HL Iron Set today.

The Nike Slingshot High Launch Irons are a great set of irons. If you are a mid handicapper or a mid-to-high handicapper, this is definitely the set for you. The hybrids have a Slingback bar on the bottom which helps have a lower COG and gets the ball higher up in the air. It’s a very forgiving club.

We move into the Iron portion. The mid irons have a generous offset, which helps get your hands forward and square the clubface. As you can see by the 6-iron, its got a nice deep cavity that is very forgiving, and as you move in to the short irons you are going to find that it has a little bit less of an offset, and that is for better shot making and playability.

They are just a great set of clubs. If you are just getting started and a mid-handicapper, you get all of the above.

A few thoughts from a very satisfied customer ….

Dear Customer Support,

I want to thank you for your super-fast handling and shipping of my order. I ordered golf shoes on 07/15, they were shipped that very same day, and I received them two days later! I have NEVER had such quick service from an online company before.

I would tweet this; however, I don’t know how to tweet, so I am just letting you know how much I appreciate your great service. I have told several friends about your website and I will definitely order again from you in the future. THANKS! Oh, I really like the shoes and they fit perfectly.

A very satisfied customer,

Kerry B

The Open Championship … Cink wins, but it’s Watson’s week, and Tiger misses the cut

Posted by Marc @ 7:46 am
Filed under: Discount Golf Equipment, Golf Stars, PGA Tour News

Wow! What a week. After Tiger missed the cut I was honestly thinking it would be a ho-hum Open Championship, and franky Tiger missing the cut would be THE story. So, thank you Tom Watson … what a run!

I have to admit I was pulling pretty hard for him on Sunday and thought he would make that put on 18 to win. He had been magical with that Odyssey White Hot XG#7 putter all week. Could you believe the 30 footer on #1, the 25 footer on #9, or the 60 foot bombs on #16 & #18 all on Friday; or just when you thought he was fading how about the 40 footer on #16 on Saturday. He had done it all week, but this just wasn’t meant to be.

Paul Azinger’s comment basically stating that " … If Tom had won it again it would not have changed his life at all, but with Cink winning it is a life-changer…", I thought was dead on, and it’s the only consolation I could derive from the outcome.

Anyway, I found the entire story simply compelling. Too bad it didn’t have quite the story book ending I was hoping for. It would have been nice to see the final Open Championship Scoreboard reading "Well done Tom. See you at St Andrews 2010".

Get DealTeam Deals No Matter Where You Are

I gotta tell ya – being a member of the DealTeam is exhausting work. We’re everywhere!

It’s not enough that we’re always dolling out great deals on top-of-the-line golf equipment and apparel on GolfEtail.com, now we’re on Twitter too. We worked overtime yesterday sending out tons of exclusive coupon codes to our loyal followers. Well, I’m beat, and now I have to ask – when will the insanity stop? I hardly have time to try out my new set of Adams Idea Tech OS Iron Set. And that’s a travesty, my friends. A real travesty!

It makes me wonder … What will the Bigwigs have us doing next – posing for pictures at AT&T National?

Although, when I think about it, maybe that’s not a bad thing. At least you’d get to see more of my handsome mug!
