Hi this is Trevor with GolfEtail.com, talking about the new TaylorMade R9 Driver. This is one of TaylorMade’s most technologically advanced drivers, featuring both Movable Weight Technology and Flight Control Technology, to optimize your game.
The R9’s Movable Weight Technology, MWT, features 3 weight ports: one 16 gram and two 1 gram weights that you can move around to get the ball flight that you prefer. If you want a fade, you move the heavier weight to the toe of the club, and if you want a draw, you move the heavier weight to the heel of the club.
It is really easy to use the R9’s Flight Control Technology with the provided wrench. All you do is loosen the screw that is on the bottom of the club, and don’t worry about it, the screw is not going to fall out because it is affixed in there. Take the shaft out and rotate it. According to their markings, you can set the club up for a draw, fade, or a neutral setting.
With the R9’s Movable Weight Technology and Flight Control technology combined, you are able to get a deviation of up to 75 yards side to side on your shots. So you can really tune it into how you want to swing the club and get the ball going. And, moving the weights and shaft around is really easy.
The R9 has a really classic shaped head, a nice pear shape. It also has a very thin crown, that is only .55mm thick, which allows all the weight to be on the bottom of the club, lowering the center of gravity (COG) and helping you get the ball up in the air. The R9 also has a nice deep face and the Inverted Cone Technology which TaylorMade Pioneered, which gives you a big sweet spot and helps you hit the ball straight even if you miss-hit it on the heel or toe.
There you have it guys, this was the TaylorMade R9 Driver. It is completely adjustable and is an incredible driver. Pick one up and customize it to your swing, gain some yards, and start shaping those shots the way you want to!
